✓ Pros

• Broad platform support includes Xbox and mobile devices through the compact USB-C dongle.
• Bluetooth 5.3 and 2.4GHz gaming can be switched with a button tap.

− Consider before buying

• The 60-hour figure is a maximum-style battery rating rather than a promise that every use pattern will last the same length of time; plan charging around your own listening and wireless habits.
• The preset feature depends on using the companion app, so players who prefer to set everything on the headset may not make full use of it.

The Nova 5X is a strong fit for someone who uses more than one gaming platform or switches between gaming and phone audio.

A compact USB-C dongle supports Xbox, PC, PlayStation, Switch, Meta Quest, phones, and tablets, while Bluetooth 5.3 can be toggled on the headset.

That mix makes it useful when one headset needs to cover more than a single console or PC setup.

Battery life is another reason to consider it: the headset is rated for 60 hours, with USB-C fast charging providing six hours of use from a 15-minute charge.

The companion app’s 100-plus game presets add a way to tailor settings for supported titles. This is a feature-rich option for players who value platform flexibility, convenient top-ups, and game-specific audio controls.

Pros and Cons of Arctis Nova 5X

Who Should Buy Arctis Nova 5X?

Good fit

Choose the Nova 5X if one wireless headset needs to serve an Xbox setup alongside a PC, PlayStation, Switch, or mobile device.

The compact USB-C dongle and Bluetooth switching offer practical ways to move between gaming and phone audio.

It also suits players who value longer intervals between charges and want quick top-ups when the battery runs low.

The app presets and on-headset ChatMix, mute, and volume controls make it a flexible choice for people who actively adjust audio for games and calls.

Who should skip it

Skip it if your setup does not use the listed USB-C dongle platforms and you do not need Bluetooth switching; the headset’s strongest practical advantages are its multi-platform connections and dual wireless modes.

Arctis Nova 5X: Platform Flexibility, Battery, and Controls

One headset across devices

The Nova 5X is designed to serve several roles: the USB-C dongle covers a mix of consoles and computers, while Bluetooth 5.3 provides another route for phones and tablets.

That broad support is most useful for households or players who switch devices, though buyers should check that their own setup matches the stated connection options.

Battery life and fast charging

A 60-hour battery rating can reduce how often charging interrupts a routine, and the 15-minute fast-charge window is useful when a session is coming up soon.

Actual runtime will depend on use, so frequent players should treat the rating as a planning reference and keep the USB-C charging option in mind.

Presets and microphone

The app’s 100-plus game presets give players a starting point for title-specific audio adjustments, while the retractable ClearCast microphone keeps chat hardware integrated into the headset.

A microphone specification alone cannot settle call quality in every environment, so frequent callers should check whether their usual setting is a good match.
