About Time
Waiting for the fish to bite or waiting for wind to fly a kite or waiting around
for Friday night. Or waiting perhaps for their Uncle Jake or a pot to boil or
a better break. Or a string of pearls or a pair of pants or a wig with curls or
another chance. Everyone is just waiting.

What in the world are we waiting for??? As Julius Caesar so famously put it,
"Carpe Diem!" For those of you not so keen on Latin or Shakespeare,
you probably know this phrase as, "Seize the Day!" We made our New Year's
resolutions as an Ad Club - to be better, push harder, wait less and do more,
and now it's time to see them through. According to my calendar, there are just
a little over 100 “diems” left to “carpe” in this Club
year, and we need your help.
Warning: dates in calendars are closer than they appear!
Ben Franklin put it best when he said, "You may delay, but time will not."
OK, enough with the literary references (for now). The point is, there is so much
left to do, to accomplish this year with the Ad Club, and it takes the combined
efforts of every member to get things done. The Club year ends June 30, which
means we are now looking for nominees for the Board of Directors. The Ad Club
Board oversees the vision, mission and strategic planning for the Club, and by
committing just a bit of your time, leadership and guidance every month, you could
inspire others to bring our organization to new heights.
Remember, nothing ventured, nothing gained. Every day opportunities await us,
and we must decide whether to take a chance or play it safe. I encourage you to
step up to the plate - to take risks - because nothing is gained without them.
When you find the courage to act, to seize the day, the rewards are sure to be
