San Diego Ad Club

As San Diego’s oldest continuously operating business association, the Ad Club and its members have an incredible history of legendary business accomplishments steeped in creativity, rooted in public service, and grounded in professional and personal relationships.

Advertising, by its very nature, is the engine that drives business. Our members – agencies, clients, media and affiliated companies – work together to create television commercials, radio spots, print ads, outdoor boards, web sites, direct mail, flyers, brochures and so much more – and that creative work runs on television, cable and radio stations, is seen in magazines, newspapers, outdoor boards, is clicked through to Internet sites and is distributed through innovative media outlets throughout the world - all with the singular goal of making business happen.

Circa 1911, when the San Diego Ad Club was founded, the following objectives were put forth by the founding fathers (yes, fathers only in those days!):

• To encourage truth in advertising and integrity in business
• To better business methods
• To study the principles of scientific and efficient advertising and sales procedure
• To develop closer fellowship among its members

Today, the San Diego Ad Club Board of Directors has adopted the following:

We envision an Ad Club in which:

• We provide members with the competitive advantage of tools and skills that help advance their careers, help their companies grow, and help their customers get better results
• We leverage the collective strength of the advertising industry (both professional and students) to make San Diego one of the best places for advertising in the nation
• We set the pace of professionalism for the industry, winning national recognition and awards from the American Advertising Federation (AAF)
